ANALGESICS  PARACETAWAL

Indications:

Treatment of mild to moderate pain and pyrexia for children and adults.
PARACETAWAL suppositories are very useful for patients unable to take oral forms of paracetamol, e.g. post-operative or with nausea and vomiting
Paracetawal suppositories 125 mg are indicated for children from 6 month to 2 years (7-12 kg body weight). Paracetawal suppositories 250mg for children from 2 to 8 years (13-25 kg body weight) Paracetawal suppositories 500mg for children from 8-12 years (26-32 kg body weight) and Paracetawal suppositories 1.000mg for children from 12 years and adults (43 kg body weight and more)

Composition:

1 suppository contains 125 / 250 / 500 / 1.000 mg Paracetamol

Application and Dosage:

Posology: The dosage should be based on age and body weight:
Children from 6 month to 2 years (7-12 kg body weight) single dose 1 supp. 125 mg
max.daily 375 mg / 3 supps.(7-8 kg / 6-9month) max.daily 500 mg / 4 supps.(9-12 kg / 9-24 month)
Children from 2 to 8 years (13-25 kg body weight) single dose 1 supp. 250 mg
max. daily 750 mg / 3 supps. (13-16 kg / 2-4 years), max. daily 1.000 mg / 4 supps.(17-25 kg / 4-8 years)
Children from 8-12 years (26-43 kg body weight) single dose 1 supp. 500 mg
max. daily 1500 mg / 3 supps. (26-32 kg / 8-11years) max daily 2.000 mg / 4 supps. (33-43 kg / 11-12 years), max. daily 4.000 mg / 8 supps. (> 43 mg / 12 years and adults)
Children from 12 years and adults single dose 1 supp. 1.000 mg
max. daily 4.000 mg / 4 supps.

The interval between doses depends on the symptomatology and the maximum daily dose. It should be at least six hours. The stated maximum daily dose (24 hours) must not be exceeded. If symptoms are persisting for more than three days, medical attention must be received.
